Recurrent is the EV battery data company. Give us the VIN and current mileage and you get the same independent report we put on every EV we sell, with no inspection appointment and no plugging anything in.
- Range Score, 0 to 100, with a plain label such as Excellent or Good. It compares the car's real-world range today with what was normal for that exact make, model and battery configuration when new; 100 means it performs like new.
- Range today, the miles you can expect on a full charge now, measured against real-world driving rather than the EPA number.
- Original battery capacity and the car's details, so you know exactly which pack you are looking at.
- A shareable link you can send to a seller, a buyer or a lender.
Secure checkout by Shopify; the report goes to the email you use there. Reports usually come back in 4 to 24 hours, and we send them during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
How it works
- Enter the VIN, mileage and trim. The VIN is on the driver's door jamb sticker, the dash at the base of the windshield, the title, or the seller's listing. We decode it for you as you type.
- Buy the report. Checkout takes about a minute. The report goes to the email you use at checkout.
- Get the report. We request it from Recurrent the moment you pay and email you the link as soon as it is ready. It usually takes 4 to 24 hours, and we deliver during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday, so an order placed after hours or over the weekend goes out the next business day.
Who it is for
- Buying a used EV somewhere else. A private seller or another dealer says the battery is fine. Now you have an independent number before you hand over the money.
- Shopping at auction or out of state. You cannot connect a car you do not own yet. The VIN and mileage are all this report needs.
Already own the car? You do not need this. Recurrent scores your own EV for free when you connect it at recurrentauto.com. And every EV on our lot already comes with its Recurrent report, so you never need it for a car you buy from Otonamo.
Good to know
- Turnaround: usually 4 to 24 hours after we have your VIN and mileage, delivered during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
- The report is built from Recurrent's data on your car's make, model, year and mileage. It is an independent, data-based estimate of the range the battery has left, not a physical battery test.
- Recurrent covers most EVs sold in the United States. If Recurrent cannot produce a report for your car, we refund the full $150.
- Need a physical test instead? Bring the car to our Mishawaka shop for an Aviloo State of Health certificate, about 3 minutes with the certificate issued on the spot.
